Varalakshmi Varatham (mother Lakshmi prayer) Friday, August 4: The Dundee Hindu Temple will observe Varalakshmi Varatham Lakshmi Prayer) on Friday. Abeshagham will be conducted at 10am. Prayer service will commence at 6pm. Bhajans and devotional songs will be rendered. The Divine Mother Lakshmi is the deity of health, wealth and prosperity. The three lotus flowers she carries symbolise health, wealth and prosperity. She takes many forms to serve her beloved devotees. All are welcome to attend and receive the blessings of the Divine Mother. Have faith, hope and trust in Mother Lakshmi and you will attain all her blessings.

This is a special day that highlights the unique bond shared between sisters and brothers. A sister ties a thread on her brother’s wrist as a symbol of her love for him and prays that he will always be safe and blessed. The Dundee Hindu Temple will be celebrating Krishna Janamasthami on Tuesday, August 15 from 6pm. The programme will include bhajans, kirtans, and discourses. All are welcome to offer worship and take part in the celebration of the birth of Lord Krishna.
Shri Vinayagar Chaturthi August 25
Prayers are offered to Lord Ganesha on this day. Lord Ganesha, who has the face of an elephant removes all sorrow and obstacles in the path of devotees and grants them boons for their sincere devotion. In the Hindu culture, every prayer begins with an invocation to Lord Ganesha. Prayer service will commence at 6pm.
