Newcomer Khayelisha stuns at time trials

The sunset may be coming earlier every day as winter creeps in but this has not deterred the time trialists from putting in some stellar performances at their meeting last Wednesday.
Ayanda Buthelezi dominated the 8km run while there was also a great performance by newcomer, Khayelisha Ngcobo, in the men’s 4km run. Want to try and beat the best? Get to the open ground on Excelsior Lane at 5pm every Wednesday.
Men: 3km run: Njabulo Duma in 16m26s.
Women: 2km walk/jog: Anri Maree finished in 16m01s.
Women: 4km run:
Thobeka Mbatha finished first in 20m20s, followed by Thembakazi Mpofana in 22m25s. Phindile Ndlela finished third in a time of 29m37s.
Men: 4km run:
The run was won by newcomer Khayelisha Ngcobo in 16m11s. Thokozane Khanyile and Sipho Ngcobo followed him in 18m22s. Third was Sakhile Dlomo in 18m20s. Fourth was Zwelihle Duma in 18m40s. Fifth was another newcomer, Freedom Dladla, in 18m44s. Sixth was youngster Sphephelo Ntshingila in 19m11s. Seventh was Fani Mthembu in 22m51s.
Thulani Sebukhulu followed him in 23m33s. Siphamandla Nkosi completed in a time of 26m40s.
Men: 8km run: The 8km run was dominated by Ayanda Buthelezi in a time of 28m30s.
Thokozani Phungula came in second in 28m55s. Lindani Sangweni followed him in 29m11s. Fourth was Joe Khumalo in 29m12s and fifth was Petrus Mavuso in 33m24s. Soa Moloi completed the race in 40m55s.
