Local clinics commit to friendly, open service

New programmes offered to better the lives of chronic medicine patients include the Chronic Central Medication Distribution Dispensation option

Dundee Hospital’s Primary Health Care facility has embarked on an outreach journey with the aim to market and promote services, which are provided at the clinics in Endumeni.
The clinics, Sakhimpilo, Glenridge, Wasbank and Empathe, invited the community within their surroundings to an open day where they were told as to what services are available.
New programmes offered to better the lives of chronic medicine patients include the Chronic Central Medication Distribution Dispensation option.
“This is aimed at decanting medicine to patients who are on chronic medication at pick up points closer to their homes. They can visit the facility after six months for a review,” said H Khanyi, Hospital CEO.
“These facilities are welcoming and are ideal facilities to communities as they are opening on time and offer services till the last patient within the facility has been attended to. The clinics are clean and user-friendly. Residents are encouraged to support these outreach days as this will give the community an opportunity to seek clarity on clinics programmes and services provided.”
