Don’t take this father, son team for granted

Justin improved on his showing of the previous day by claiming sixth position

The father and son team of Grant and Justin Dekker just keeps on rolling. Well, cycling rather as both competed in the SA BMX Championships at Giga Gorge at the Valley of 1000 Hills.
Grant achieved sixth place in the 40 and over ‘cruiser age group’ while Dundee High School learner, Justin, came home with an eighth place in the 17-24 years age group for men.
The following day, the Dundee pair competed in the BMX African Continental Championships where Grant again came sixth in his age group.
Justin improved on his showing of the previous day by claiming sixth position.
“Overall it was a great two days of competitive BMX racing. We thank our sponsors (Orange Grove Dairy and Epilepsy South Africa) for their help and support.
“Thank you to everyone else that has supported us during the year,” said Grant.
Earlier this year both competed in the World BMX Championships where they represented South Africa in Colombia.
