Sarel’s top matrics visit ‘High Flyers’ Camp
Learners were exposed to higher order questions and techniques to solve such problems.
Wandile Julayi and Slindokuhle Lushaba of Sarel Cilliers High School attended a camp for “high flyers” at Greytown High School during the October holidays. The camp, organised by the Department of Education, aimed to improve on the number of A symbols produced in the matric final examinations. Learners were exposed to higher order questions and techniques to solve such problems. Both learners expressed their gratitude for such a programme and emphatically stated that they benefited from it. Good luck in the finals.
Rugby Girls in SA Top Schools Tournament
Nonjabulo Ngobese and Nontobeko Mathupha were selected for a team to take part at the SA Top Schools tournament in Pretoria during the holidays. They will depart from Newcastle on December 6 and return on December 16. The school is really proud of these two girls and their achievements.
Best wishes and prayers for all our Grade 12s
To the class of 2016: The principal of Sarel Cilliers says goodbye with a heavy heart this week. You have been with us for many years and we have seen you grow in age and in maturity. The school has seen your ups and downs, your good and bad days, your laughter and tears, and now we see you tackle your final obstacle in school: your final examinations. They wish all the matrics, as well as those in our sister schools in Endumeni, the best of luck!
Study hard, give your all, and you will reap success. Thank you to all the teachers who worked long hours to prepared the learners. Thank you also to the Department of Education for your ongoing support and advice. It is really appreciated.
