Vicky and Listel to wow Glencoe this weekend

Don't miss an entertaining and educational evening of song, dance and an eye opening play

Human trafficking, drug abuse and sexual violation of teenagers is a shocking reality our society faces and is the also the theme of a new play to be showcased in Glencoe this weekend.

The play, Vicky, is based on Hendrick Bergh’s famous book with the same title.

Although not completely for sensitive viewers, it is an eye opening play that parents and young teens should see. The play is in Afrikaans at the moment but is being translated into English.

The play will be staged at the Glencoe Primary School on Saturday, July 30 at 6:30pm. The book will also be available for sale at the venue.

It’s not the only highlight of the evening though.

Local singer/ songwriter, Listel, will open the evening with songs from her debut album. Her CD, Staan Sterk, will also be available for sale at the event. The CD’s are R100 each. includes her own songs as well as cover versions of country songs. Don’t miss this opportunity to witness this truly amazing artist perform live.

Dancers from local ballet studio, En Pointe, will be entertaining crowds as well. They have worked diligently to prepare a beautiful ensemble for all to enjoy.

The Pink Ladies will also be present at the event. Better known for their campaigns to help find missing adults and children, they will bring complementary fingerprint forms on which your child’s details will be placed.

Details include fingerprints, a photo and physical information like weight and height. Parents can diligently update this information as the child grows. This will make it easy to hand over a complete description, fingerprints included, to the Police should a child go missing.

Tickets are available at Kraaines Glencoe and Finesse Dundee.
