Youth Day marked by a sporting bonanza

“It was humbling when he allowed skipping to be introduced, even though only two schools participated: Rutland High and Hlokomani Primary.

Local businessman, Carter Mpanza’s, vision of developing and nurturing talent in Nyanyadu bore fruition when Youth Day was marked with a sports tournament. Mr Mpanza has sponsored this tournament for the past six, which started with only six primary schools competing in soccer only. Later, the number grew to eight primary schools including netball. He has now introduced four high schools with Ingabade High and Isiphosemvelo High crowned winners in soccer and netball respectively. Nyanyadu Primary and Hlokomani Primary still dominated the primary school section in soccer and netball respectively.
