Mgazi learn about all business

"The learners improve every year and continue to surprise us with their creativity."

Commerce students at Mgazi Secondary School, Nquthu, got a taste of the business world when they hosted a Market Day.
Various stalls were set up where food, prepared by the students, was sold. Miss Ndlela, commerce teacher, reported that ‘all the food was up to standard and delicious’.

“The learners improve every year and continue to surprise us with their creativity.
“The Commerce Department aims to produce learners who will not just sit at home and do nothing even if they do not get a chance to study after school.”

The learners will be able to use their entrepreneurial skills they have learnt and practised during such Market Days which will give them the confidence to open their own small businesses and contribute to the economy.
“This will mean less young people roaming around and getting involved in crime,” Miss Ndlela said.

This Department appreciates those parents who gave their kids money for start-up capital, as well as the school principal, JT Buthelezi, who allowed this opportunity on the school premises for Market Day.
Students and their teachers thanked the school staff for their support.
‘It was a wonderful Market Day,” Miss Ndlela concluded.
