Sentraal looking forward to semi-final clash following convincing wins

Sentraal have completed their round robin league fixtures and now await the outcome of the other sides games to know who they will face in the league semi finals and where the games will be.

The Sentraal Rugby sides put in their best performances of the season against Volksrust at home on Saturday.
The second side ran havoc against their luckless opposition, scoring 16 tries to none. It was not that Volksrust did not try – but when the Sentraal backline got the ball, slick handling at pace opened up gaps a plenty.
The final score? 98 – 0. Tries were scored by Siyabonga Xama (4), Buthi Zulu, Ngcebo Zulu and Mtokozizni Mkwanyana who all scored two tries each. The rest of the points came from tries by Sifundu Zulu, Abdullah Rehman, Siyabonga Hadebe, Dani Zwane, Simpiwe Khumede and Menenze Mlambo. Tiron Terry converted five tries and Sipho Sibisi four. Backline player of the game was Siyabonga Xaba and Gary Simpson among the forwards.

Sentraal’s first side started the game with real passion and within the first five minutes, fullback Tiaan du Plooy crossed the line for a brilliant try. Sentraal then had to wait and struggle for thirty minutes before winger, Tiron Terry, scored the second try just before halftime. Flyhalf, Pierre Booysen, converted both taking the halftime score to 14 – 6. What was said, by coaches Boy Hesom and Dolf Kruger, to the players at halftime is unknown but there was a completely different attitude among the players at the start of the second half. Centre Dolf Redelinghuis opened the flood gates with a fine try followed by hooker, Tshapelo Nkoto, centre Xander Kriel (2), winger, Brandon Biyela and a second try by replacement wing, Tiron Terry. Pierre Booysen converted four of the tries. The final score Sentraal 52 – 6 Volksrust. It was difficult to select the players of the match in a game where everyone gave everything for the club, but in the end it was decided to split the backline player reward between centres Dolf Redelinghuis and Xander Kriel. Forward of the day was prop, Nosh Mbanjwa.
A special word of thanks to referee Sipho Evans from Pietermaritzburg in the manner he handled the first teams game. Ditto to Armand Lutske for the second teams.
