Sport against Ferrum
On May 14, DHS learners travelled to Ferrum High in Newcastle. DHS would like to thank Ferrum for hosting such a well organised day. All the teams thoroughly enjoyed their games.
Hockey: The hockey went really well. The u/14s lost 0-1, u/16s drew 0-0, the second team lost and the first team dominated the midfield but couldn’t capitalise on opportunities. The girls played their hearts out but Ferrum’s fitness won in the end and they scored a goal just before the final whistle. Zabe Zwane was the player of the match for her beautiful defending during the game. The first team boys still have to play their match against Ferrum and the second team boys won 2-0. Well played.
Netball: Unfortunately they lost all their games. The girls played really well and managed to keep their heads up during all these tough and challenging matches. The school would like to thank them for all their hard work and dedication and are happy to see that they are regarding these losses as a challenge to better themselves.
