Hamilton athletes shine at national champs

Emily Nel and Thandolwethu Madonsela have both qualified to represent SACSSA

Hamilton School is celebrating the outstanding achievements of two of its young athletes.

Emily Nel (Grade 6) and Thandolwethu Madonsela (Grade 9) competed at the South African Christian Schools Sports Association (SACSSA) National Athletics Championships at the DP de Villiers Stadium in Sasolburg on September 20 and 21.

Thandolwethu showcased her talent across multiple field events, securing a gold medal in shot put, a silver in javelin, and a bronze in discus. Her impressive performances have earned her a spot to represent SACSSA.

Emily, who previously won silver in the under 12 1200m event at the KwaZulu-Natal Christian Schools Sports Association (KZNCSSA) Championship, continued her success by earning a bronze medal in the 1200m race. Emily’s consistent performances have also qualified her to represent SACSSA.

Hamilton is proud of these athletes’ achievements, reflecting the school’s strong commitment to nurturing young talent. Congratulations to Emily and Thandolwethu on their remarkable accomplishments, and best of luck as they continue to represent their school and SACSSA on the national stage.
