Stray cattle roam and wreak havoc in Observation Hill

The community awaits resolution, hoping authorities will promptly address this pressing issue

For nearly a week, residents of Observation Hill have been plagued by a roaming herd of cattle, posing a danger to motorists.

Ward 12 Councillor Sharon Buys said in a statement that despite multiple reports to Public Safety, no action has been taken, leaving the community frustrated.

A concerned Cllr Buys stepped in by contacting the Stock Theft Unit to trace the owner of the cattle. However, the animal identification mark is illegible, potentially leading to them being impounded.

Buys said that the matter has been escalated by emailing the municipal manager, urging by-law officers to take immediate action.

“The inaction from the authorities is alarming. It’s time for a solution to ensure public safety and animal welfare,” said a concerned Cllr Buys.
