Police recover pistol in stop and search operations
Many illegal firearms have been recovered in operations of this nature
Officers from the Public Order Policing Unit conducted ‘stop and search’ operations in the Hlathi area of Ekuvukeni last night (August 29).
Upon stopping and searching a vehicle, they found a 9mm pistol.
Also results: The Birdlife South Africa Facebook site has been hacked!
The only occupant in the vehicle was unable to prove ownership of the firearm and was immediately arrested.
He appeared in the Ezakheni Magistrate’s Court today (August 30), facing a charge of being in possession of an unlicensed firearm.
