It was truly enjoyable to listen to great harmony and simultaneously witness an entertaining traditional dance by the choir learners

On Saturday, the Vryheid High School (VHS) choir took part in the Ferrum High School Choir Festival in Newcastle. The learners displayed great talent as they performed the songs ‘Jesus, Lover of my Soul’ and ‘Sikirileke’. The latter was accompanied by an enthusiastic traditional dance. It was truly enjoyable to listen to great harmony and simultaneously witness an entertaining traditional dance by the choir learners. Choir conductor Sandakahle Shabangu has an admirable ability to coach music; he ensures that the choir produces a good melody and incorporates energetic dances while the djembe drum maintains the rhythm. The learners thoroughly enjoyed themselves! VHS is grateful to Ferrum High School for the opportunity and looks forward to more choir festivals. Lastly, the school wishes to thank Mr Ngubane and Ms Ntshangase for accompanying the choir.
