Sentraal rugby club suffer the bitterness of controversy in final

Despite this setback, it was a successful season for Sentraal, with the foundation laid for a successful future at their new headquarters - the Glencoe sports stadium.

Sentraal were left frustrated on Saturday when they narrowly missed out on taking home the Junior Murray Cup.
The local team went down 23-19 to Amanzimtoti in the final, which was played in Hillcrest. There was controversy after Sentraal’s last try was ruled out by the linesman.
If the try had been awarded, Sentraal would have taken the Murray Cup back to their clubhouse in Glencoe.
The referee and others admitted after the game that the try should have stood, but by then it was too late.
Xander Kriel and JP Roets dotted down for Sentraal, while Xander also slotted home a conversion. For their efforts, Sentraal won R5000.
