Local DJ believes international nomination will boost his SA recognition

DJ Mpiloz pleaded with the Estcourt residents to support by vote for him and make sure he bring the award at home.

The local DJ, who is based in the United States, is continuing with flying the South African flag abroad and representing the Estcourt Well. DJ Mpiloz from Estcourt is living his dream and shining in the United States of America. Recently, the DJ got nominated in the International Act category at the Abroad Achievement Awards, which will be held in October.

DJ Mpiloz, who is currently in the US, believes that this nomination will help many aspects of his career. He told the Estcourt News that he thinks it will get him attention from his people in South Africa, and people will start following his journey.

‘’ As votes are only allowed in SA, maybe my own country will start recognizing me, as I’m well known in the USA. People in the US love and appreciate my music more than people of my own country, South Africa, especially my home town, Estcourt. I have been nominated for the International Act category at the Abroad Achievement Awards, which will be held in New Jersey, USA, on October 5, 2024. This is the first time it will be held, and I was privileged to be one of the nominees.

DJ Mpiloz then pleaded with the Estcourt community to vote for him and bring the award home. ”You can vote as many times as you want; SMS only costs R2.

SMS: DJ Mpiloz – International act to: 41539. I’m dedicating this award to my late mom, who was the one who, even though she didn’t understand this DJ thing, kept on supporting me until last day. I’m sure she’s really proud of me where she is.”

He further explained that he never thought he would go abroad in his life; his own plan was to be recognized in South Africa, until God and his ancestors sent someone to listen to his set, and he loved it. He was still young by then when he was recognized by a person from the USA, and that is how it all began, and he has been to many countries like Qatar, Peru, Kenya, Dubai, Turkey, Tunisia, the Netherlands, and Mexico, just to name a few, through his music career, and became more popular than he is in South Africa,’’ he said.

”My recent project, I’m working on my new EP. I have an alcohol brand that is owned by me called Mountain Cremas. There is a new house music movement called Imbizo House Music USA Tour, and I’m doing it till the end of summer in the US. I have a documentary coming out called “Emakhaya To the World,” and lastly, I am preparing a Mhlaka Mpiloz charity event I host in Estcourt in Easter, where some of the money I make I donate to people who are in need.

DJ Mpiloz then gave the SA and Estcourt youth some motivational words and said, ‘’Never wait on another person to follow your dreams.” Follow your heart and believe in yourself. 2018: I lost everything I worked for (studio equipment, camera, and sound) to a shark who took advantage of my desperation after I paid him, but he kept saying I owed him, but I never gave up. I kept doing what I liked and believed it was right for me by following my dream.

Lastly, by helping someone, you are not only doing yourself a favour, but you are also opening the door for children, so let’s learn to support those who are really in need of your help.” DJ Mpiloz concludes
