Boschpick Highlanders III crowned 3 Division League champions
The Newcastle Boschpick Highlanders III were crowned the 3 Division League champions on Saturday (July 20) after beating the Highlanders IV 69-29 in the finals.
After leading 31-14 at halftime, coach Andrè ‘Swanie’ Swanepoel said it was clear that the trophy would be going home with the Highlanders III.
Highlanders III scored 10 tries while Highlanders IV ran in five.
“It was an entertaining game to watch, especially for the supporters who came out to watch on the day,” said Swanepoel.
The two packs of forwards matched up well, but the third team’s backline proved superior.
Highlanders III will next face off against the 3 Division Durban winners on August 3 at Arbor Park Sports Grounds for the much-anticipated final of the Findley Cup.
