Dug-up hole in busy street frustrates residents

Some people are even throwing their rubbish into the hole

Members of the community are complaining about a hole in Murchison Street, which has been left open for a couple of weeks now. The hole was dug by municipal workers.

The rubble at the side of the road has hampered the operations of several businesses in Murchison Street and they are unhappy about the whole situation.

“The hole has been open for more than five weeks and it is dangerous. What if someone falls in and gets hurt? Who will be held responsible for the medical bills?” said Jennifer Rehman, manager of Hospice.

Pedestrians are also affected because there is no walking space for them. So people have to walk in the road and risk being hit by a car.
