Educators empower one another

One of the aims and objectives of T2T is to develop the emotional, psychological and holistic well-being of teachers.

Teacher 2 Teacher Empowerment (T2T) held a workshop on July 7 and 8 at King Shenge Village.
T2T is a non-political, non-racial and non-sexist teacher organisation that aims to empower educators, who in turn empower others to build stronger schools and a more focused teaching and learning environment. One of the aims and objectives of T2T is to develop the emotional, psychological and holistic well-being of teachers.
The workshop catered for cognitive activities in terms of presentations on emotional and psychological issues that encroach on the workplace, as well as the personal development of teachers.
Because the workshop was in the Zululand District, it was organised and executed by Zululand-based educators that included Mr Vezi Mhlungu, Mr Nhlanhla Masuku, Mr Zwane, Mr Sanele Cebekhulu, Miss Bongiwe Nxumalo, Mrs Shabalala, Mrs Zulu, Mr Zakhele Xulu and Mr Ayanda Kubheka.
The Zululand team came up with the following topics to deal with: Effective teachers in the 21st century; digital literacy; career development; working as a team; teacher development; barriers to learning; the importance of libraries in schools; resolution 11; and stress management for educators.
The team appreciates the support from the following individuals who shared valuable content through the above topics: Mr OV Kubheka, Ms KP Ncube, Mr M Blose, Prof M Sithole, Dr Mhlongo, Hon Ayanda Kubheka, Miss G Nkosi, Mr Mathebula, Ps S Hlela, Mr M Lambiso and Hon Zakhele Xulu.
One of the organisers, Mr Kubheka, mentioned that, “As the Zululand team, we are super excited to have been entrusted with such a huge responsibility. We believe we’ve met the workshop objectives, and teachers are encouraged to remain in the profession and be effective in their respective schools. This could not have been possible without the support of Mr Buthelezi of King Shenge Village, Stilwater, TFS, Amasobode Foundation, Ntabulu, TD Design and the Zakhele Foundation. Thank you so much to all the media houses that were present. For more information, search for us on Facebook at Teacher 2 Teacher Empowerment.”
