Athletic club holds ‘Pasta Party’ before Comrades
The runners commented that they are more than ready to compete on Sunday
Estcourt Athletic Club (EAC) held a ‘Pasta Party’ yesterday (June 4) for the runners who will be taking part in this year’s Comrades Marathon.
“This was what we call our ‘Pasta Party’, where we celebrate with our Comrades Marathon runners and share in a meal before they take on the big race this weekend. We also placed fun bets on various runners’ times, which we will then look at after the race. The runner who has done the most Comrades in our club has done 18!” explained the club.

This year’s race will be held on Sunday (June 9) and will be an up-run from Durban to Pietermaritzburg.
The following runners will take part in this year’s Comrades Marathon (number of finishes in brackets): Erika Bondesion (1), Patrick Mntambo (2), Khulani Dube (3), Henry Mvelase (15), Israel Zuma (2), Thule Daki, Bongani Nuka, David Mhlanga (5), Jane Schiever (9), Mark Winter (9), Amri Sewnun (18) and Zanele Mnguni (2).
