Four men held on charges of illegal firearms, ammunition in the Wasbank area
Police swooped after receiving information regarding a suspicious-looking vehicle in the area.
Wasbank detectives and the Umzinyathi Task Team arrested four suspects on March 21, following a joint operation after receiving a tip-off. The suspects were charged with possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition in the Wasbank area.
The suspects are alleged to be involved and linked to other cases such as house robberies, housebreaking and attempted murder. The Umzinyathi District SAPS commissioner, Major General Francis Slambert, applauded the two teams on the arrests. She said there’s no space for perpetrators; justice will be served and the SAPS are there to protect the community.
