Sarel Cilliers’ Lionesses roar their way onto the crease for action cricket

The ladies did not win their first match, but great fun was had by all.

Last week saw the first match for the Sarel Cilliers Lionesses, as action cricket takes off.
The team, made up mostly of educators, showed promise – with some excellent play from Liezel Slabbert (best player of the match), and Mrs van Rensberg and Mrs van der Merwe (best team pair).
Unfortunately, the ladies did not win their first match, but great fun was had by all.
Not only does the team have a strong future, but also a strong supporter group to cheer them on all the way. It’s going to be a great season.
Congratulations to Sarel Cilliers’ office and teaching staff who recently graduated. Z Njoko and N Buthelezi from the front office were both awarded their National Diplomas in Management and Financial Management.
Steven Joubert and D Davies both graduated with a Bachelor’s in Education. Well done to these four who have bright futures ahead of them.

The matrics are busy with their final exams and working hard.
Many of the matric learners rang the bell to symbolise the end of their time in the classroom. It was an emotional last day of learning for the learners and the teachers, as the matrics embark on the final stretch of their school careers.
All the best to everyone writing their matric exams. Study hard – you are almost at the finish line and your future depends on this last effort.
