Local law enforcement apprehend criminals during High Density Operation

The operation consisted of the Amajuba District Police, the Newcastle Crime Fighters Task Team, Optimus Security Services, and the CPF.

Three suspects were recently arrested and charged for various crimes following a high-density operation throughout the Newcastle area.

Imran Ghafoor, of the Newcastle Crime Fighters Task Team, said the operation included members of the Amajuba District Police, the Newcastle Crime Fighters Task Team, Optimus Security Services, and the Community Policing Forum.

One wanted suspect was arrested in Kwamathukuza with a warrant for arrest; one suspect was arrested for drunk driving; and the third suspect was arrested for possession and dealing in illegal narcotics.

In total, police recovered 19 parcels of dagga, six parcels of crystal meth, 10 full and eight half mandrax tablets, 22 parcels of whoonga, three crystal meth pipes, and an undisclosed amount of cash.

“Thanks to all who made the time to attend and assist. It was yet another great and successful operation,” Ghafoor said.
