Bowlers show camaraderie during Women’s Day celebrations

To be able to walk in their shoes for a day gave the men a sense of gratitude for all the effort that women make and go through every day, which is only considered the norm.

The Newcastle Bowling Club was not short of fun and laughter, with the players taking ‘team spirit’ to a whole new height to mark Women’s Day.

To celebrate, the men decided to ‘walk a mile in a woman’s shoes’ by dressing up in their prettiest attire for their monthly chicken competition, sponsored by Eagle Peak Spur.

Event organiser, Bennie van Vuuren, said: “Seeing it was Women’s Day, we men thought it was a good idea to dress like women as a sign of gratitude for the women in our lives. To be able to walk in their shoes for a day gave us a sense of gratitude for all the effort that women make and go through every day, which is only considered the norm.”

It was also an opportunity to build spirit in the club, where we all enjoyed a braai after the festivities and just enjoyed the day’s festivities.
