Municipality to roll out meter upgrade campaign

"A TID is a token identification code used to uniquely identify each token that is generated."

Endumeni Municipality will on Thursday, August 3, roll out their Token Identification (TID) upgrade programme related to the need for residents, using pre-paid electricity meters, to ensure that they can still buy power after the November 24, 2024 deadline.

“A TID is a token identification code is used to uniquely identify each token that is generated. To prevent the same token from being received more than once, the meter stores the punched-in token numbers,”  said  Municipal revenue manager, Calvin Masondo.

Masondo said the municipality will be hosting mass campaigns to educate residents about the TID Rollover and they will also be training ward committee members at the Mckenzie Hall so that they can be able to go back to their communities and help residents with the rollover. “For further assistance, residents must not hesitate to come to our office or to contact the helpline on 087 747 0459.:
