Elandré rocks Glencoe – shows he is tougher than the rest

His set included George Ezra's hit, Riding Shotgun, which seemed to suit Elandré's baritone voice.

Elandré Schwartz rocked Glencoe on Friday night when he performed for a fundraiser for the Blood River heritage site.

A packed Glencoe Primary School hall enjoyed the evening of ‘rocky Afrikaans music’ intertwined with his version of Springsteen’s Tougher than the Rest. His back up band kept the enthusiastic audience on their feet.

He commented that he too is from a small town, Despatch in the Eastern Cape, but that ‘anyone can dream and achieve success’.

He has released three albums: Kleindorpdromer, Boomhuis and Rugsak. A fourth will be out soon. His set included George Ezra’s hit, Riding Shotgun, which seemed to suit Elandré’s baritone voice.

His show was backed up by talented local singers, teen sensation, Mia, and Christo Badenhorst.

A good night for music lovers!
