Market day brings in great hope for Harry

The funds raised will go towards Harry's medical expenses and every donation will be greatly appreciated by the family.

There was a tremendous sense of ‘community’ when the monthly market day hosted by Kraaines in Glencoe was held to raise much-needed funds for Harry O’ Mullane. At just four years old, Harry was diagnosed with leukaemia.
Harry’s parents, John and Sarah-Faye, have been sharing Harry’s story in an attempt to ‘pay-it-forward’ by creating more awareness of the huge shortage of blood and bone marrow donors in our country.

There are also exorbitant medical expenses to contend with, and it was with this in mind that Cherice Torlage and her team decided to dedicate the day to Harry’s cause.

“The support on the day was outstanding. It was amazing to see our community come out and do their bit for little Harry.
“It was all about spreading a positive message and that’s why we had posters made, reading ‘We love you, Harry’,” said Cherice.
The pancake stall ladies were kind enough to donate all their proceeds to the cause, and extra donations also poured in.
Cherice said the market on July 29 will include a fun walk and run of 2km and 6km, also in aid of the ‘Hope for Harry’ fund.
It will start (08:00) and finish at Kraaines. R20 gets you a place in the 2km event and R50 in the 6km.
Lots of prizes can be won.

A bowls day was also put together on June 16 to raise much-needed funds for little Harry. The support was amazing and an amount of R10,000 was raised for the cause.
