Driver entrapped after truck crashes

It’s believed the front right tyre burst, causing the truck to veer and crash off the road

A driver is lucky to be alive after a truck crash on the R103 near Frere this afternoon (June 14).

The truck was carrying an “abnormal load” of yellow equipment.

Local emergency services say that it’s believed the front right tyre burst, causing the truck to veer and crash off the road.

The one occupant, the driver, was entrapped and once extricated was treated for injuries.
