St Martins Village is in need of the community’s assistance

St Martin's Village ‘is blessed to have a beautiful home to house precious babies and children who deserve to be nurtured and loved’ – but the village now needs the assistance of the community to ensure this care continues

Pastor Thomas said the house will be filled with the pitter-patter of many tiny feet, smiles, and laughter under the direct care of house mother, Riekie Caetano who ensures that every child’s needs are attended to.

“It will protect children and provide them with hope. “It will connect them with families who will fiercely adore them; this is our village,” he explained.

He thanked everyone who made possible the founding of St Martins but commented that the house still has a lot of things in the works.

“We now reach out to the community for assistance and to help other people and families prosper.”

Here’s how readers can help says Pastor Thomas:

  • Pray for our village and the work we do.
  • Volunteer (help us feed, bathe, and play with our children, or work in our garden and help to make our playground beautiful).
  • Help with fundraising (ask to join our committee or participate in our events).
  • Think of us when you do your groceries (we are always in need of baby formula, nappies, wet wipes, baby porridge, and soap).
  • Purchase fresh produce and preserves from us (all funds go toward our NPO).
  • Help us find sponsors (connect us to your ‘connections’).
  • Help us find building companies willing to help us restore our back-building (we want more homes on our property so we can cater to the needs of more vulnerable children).
  • Register as a safe care or foster parent (we can help you with this process).
  • Get your business involved (we offer Section 18A tax certificates).
  • Make a monetary donation (we do not receive funding from DSD or any governmental department). We rely solely on fundraising and donations to succeed.
