Dundee High School orators take to the podium to impress

The purpose of the speech competition was to germinate a sense of confidence and to provide learners with an additional platform to show off their talents.

Dundee High School (DHS) learners Nokwazi Nyandeni, Shanon Griffiths, Ofentse Nkoagatse, Khwezi Molefe, Michael Molefe, Andiswa Lamula, Zandisiwe Maphalala and Dalisu Mbatha took part in a regional speech competition hosted by Sarel Cilliers on Friday. It was a lovely morning filled with excellent speeches that radiated maturity and insight above normal expectations.
The purpose of the speech competition was to germinate a sense of confidence and to provide learners with an additional platform to show off their talents.
Thanks so much to Miss Singh from Sarel Cilliers for this lovely initiative, and the other schools in our district that took part.

DHS’s orators at the regional speech competition: Michael Molefe, Khwezi Molefe, Ofentse Nkoagatse, Dalisu Mbatha, Zandisiwe Maphalala, Andiswa Lamula, Shanon Griffiths and Nokwazi Nyandeni.

DHS against Greytown High:
The morning started early for the many teams that took part in the annual winter sport league on Saturday. All our teams performed extremely well and we are very proud to announce the following scores:
Netball: U/15 won 18-7, U/16 won 25-16, second team won 31-6, and first team won 88-6.
Rugby: U/14 won 76-0, U/15 won 44-0, U/16 won 27-7, second team lost 5-17, and first team won 20-5.
Hockey: U/14 girls lost 0-6, U/16 won 2-0, and second team won 3-0.
Chess: The DHS chess players won 7-3. Well done to Daniel, Sphelele, Akabongwe, Sandile, Ntobeko, Zandisiwe and Zanokuhle for winning your games.
