Handing out hot meals during power outage

Over 400 plates of food were handed out to those in need

Members of the Geza Izandla non-profit organisation (NPO) were seen handing out food in the Egerton area last week when the area did not have power due to the substation fire.

Geza Izandla founder Rakhee ‘Tilly’ Meyer said it was a sad state of affairs that people could not cook food and that is why they decided to prepare hot meals for the community.

Meyer added that she cooked all the food herself and went out to distribute with her team. “I hope that the little bit we do in the community makes a difference at the end of the day.”

The NPO wishes to thank all the sponsors that came on board and helped with the food distribution.

Meyer concluded that, during the power outage, they also helped people with water.
