Teens hurt in bakkie crash

Two serious collisions were reported this morning

Two teenagers were fortunate to escape with minor injuries after a bakkie they were in overturned in Winterton during the early hours of this morning (April 30).

According to a source on scene, the teens had allegedly taken the bakkie without permission and were driving around when the driver lost control of the vehicle, causing it to overturn.

When emergency services arrived on scene, they treated the pair of teens for minor injuries before they were taken to Emmaus Hospital.

In a separate incident this morning (April 30) at about 01:30, a car and truck collided on the R103 between Estcourt and Colenso.

Emergency services report that the car, which had no lights visible, was hit by the truck.

One person died on scene, while another was injured.
