A Chinese Sharpei dog that goes by the name of ‘Caramel’ went missing from Meadowsweet Kennels & Cattery in Harrismith Road on Saturday (April 29).

The worried owners are offering a reward to the person who finds her. If anyone spots ‘Caramel’, please contact Lucy Ahir on 0763548373 or Ranjay Ahir on 0827042904

The upset owners say it is unacceptable that their ‘fur baby’ is missing. “How could the kennels be so irresponsible?” they question. The owners add that their daughters are in a ‘state of trauma’, as ‘Caramel’ was like a member of the family.

Pauline Lennon from Meadowsweet Kennels & Cattery commented that ‘Caramel’ has boarded at the kennels three or four times previously. “She is a beautiful animal, but skittish. She got a fright and managed to get out the gate. Being highly-strung, she would rather run away than come to people she does not really know, making it difficult to catch her,” explained Lennon.

Lennon added that the more you call her, the further she wants to be away from you.

There are lots of people out there looking, and she hopes that ‘Caramel’ will soon be found.
