Doctor plays top golf to claim Dundee Championship honours

Club president Debbie Catlett won the ladies' silver division on 167, while Hlengiwe Hlongwane was crowned the bronze division winner on 176 gross.

Dr Sifiso Kunene played superb golf to card a gross of 142 and claim the honours in Dundee Country Club’s annual Stroke-Play Championships played on Saturday and Sunday.
The weather was perfect for golf, and the players did not disappoint the crowd that came to cheer them on.
Kunene was in his element on Sunday, narrowly missing out on an eagle and returning three birdies. Jo Khumalo was the runner-up, followed by Bruce Marx and Shakeel Kalideen.
Veteran Gene Robson won the B division on a 162 gross, but had to fight off up-and-coming youngster KK Khumalo, who was second. Club president Debbie Catlett won the ladies’ silver division on 167, while Hlengiwe Hlongwane was crowned the bronze division winner on 176 gross.
The Club Match-Play Championships will be played this coming weekend (Saturday and Sunday), with the top 16 men in each division qualifying and the top eight ladies playing this coming weekend.
Remember Friday’s Joker Evening at 18:00. The jackpot was won on Friday, with the lucky winner making off with over R6000. You too could be a winner for just R10!
