Speaker’s Facebook account gets hacked

The hackers are promising jobs in exchange for cash

Alfred Duma Local Municipality Speaker Cllr Bhekinkosi Sithole would like to inform the community that his official Facebook page has been hacked.

The speaker became aware of this on Wednesday (March 29), when he was informed that someone has been using his Facebook account to conduct a ‘money for jobs’ scam. The con artist has been asking for R5000 in exchange for a job within the municipality, using this contact number: 079 167 3241.

The municipality would like to take this opportunity to reaffirm that it would never ask for money from residents in exchange for employment. The municipality strictly follows a recruitment policy.

Residents are therefore urged to disregard any communication or request from this Facebook account and refrain from entertaining messages of this nature.
