Tuppy takes top spot

Derrick ‘Tuppy’ Schiever won the Medal and Stableford competition

Golf at the club started on Friday (March 3) with the hosting of the inaugural Farmers Classic. 72 golfers took to the course in a 4-Ball Alliance Scramble Drive format. This is a huge achievement for Estcourt Golf Club and the Farmers Association.

Friday evening concluded with a sumptuous supper and prize-giving ceremony. Golfers’ attention then shifted to Saturday’s Mortimer Motors Group Monthly Medal / Stableford competition. Winning the Medal and Stableford competition on a nett 71 and 37 points was Derrick ‘Tuppy’ Schiever. Well played Tuppy, after being out of the game for a while due to injury.

Paul Wagenaar claimed his on no. 3 and Dr Erasmus on no. 16.

The jackpot, on eight points, was shared by David Diedrick, Shrey Harrynarain and Deejay Ramdhav. Thank you to the sponsors for a great weekend of golf.

Some additional positives from the Estcourt Golf Club Association: With the Mabaso family and Phiwe Mabaso Memorial Golf Day held in January, needy schoolchildren received school uniforms. It was truly heartwarming to see the joy on their faces.
