Wembezi woman stabbed to death

The woman was stabbed multiple times and dumped near a primary school

The community of Wembezi is reeling in shock after another murder.

31-year-old Zandile (Nokwa) Nils was found stabbed to death near a primary school in Wembezi on Sunday (February 26).

“Wembezi detectives are investigating a murder case. Police are pleading with anyone who may have information that will assist in the investigation and could lead to the arrest of the suspect to contact the nearest police station, or call the crime stop number on 086 001 0111,” said police spokesperson Warrant Officer Basheer Khan.

Inkosi Langalibalele Local Municipality Mayor Mduduzi Myeza has called on law enforcement agencies to take urgent and swift action in order to bring the perpetrators to book.

“Women, girls and children, like the rest of us, ought to be protected by everyone, respected and valued and not subjected to the grievous and heinous acts that not only endangers their lives, but take away their right to life. I wish to send my deepest sympathies and condolences to the Nils family, friends, loved ones and the community at large. The loss of a life, especially in the manner that Ms Nils left us, is a reminder that we are a nation that needs repentance and the Word of God,” said the mayor.
