Newcastle SAPS investigate two cases of culpable homicide

The first incident occurred on February 9 after a male was knocked down on Allen Street in the Newcastle CBD.

Newcastle SAPS are investigating two cases of culpable homicide following the death of two pedestrians in separate incidents.

In the first incident on Allen Street in in the Newcastle CBD  on February 9 a man was run over and rushed  to Madadeni Hospital for further intensive treatment.

Unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries on February 21.

The second incident occurred along the P483 (Madadeni Road) at around 4:50 on February 21.

It’s believed a woman driver motorist was travelling from Madadeni to Newcastle when she struck a female pedestrian.

The victim was rushed to a local hospital for medical treatment where she was pronounced dead.

Both cases will remain subjective to further police investigations.
