Father shoots son dead, injures wife before turning gun on himself
SAPS were called to the Pioneer Park residence at about 20:20 on Friday after they had received reports of a shooting:
A husband shot his wife and son before turning the gun on himself at a home in Pioneer Park on Friday evening. The woman survived the shooting and is currently undergoing treatment.
Lizzy Arumugam, Newcastle SAPS corporate communications officer, confirmed that SAPS are currently investigating a case of murder, attempted murder and an inquest.
“SAPS were called to the Pioneer Park residence at about 20:20 on Friday after they had received reports of a shooting,” said Arumugam.
“Two deceased men were discovered in the home. The woman – the wife and mother of the two deceased respectively – had suffered a gunshot wound and was taken to hospital.”
