Residents fume about potholes

"We won't have a road left if this carries on"

Residents in Surat Road are up in arms about the potholes in the area. According to Mr Maharaj, the matter has been reported to Alfred Duma Local Municipality, but nothing has been done.

The potholes make it difficult for people to get into their driveways. Motorists comment that they have to risk damaging their vehicles if they happen to hit the hazardous holes.

Maharaj says the condition of the road is also dangerous for children playing outside, as vehicles swerve out of the way to miss the ‘treacherous craters’ and could hit a pedestrian.

This is not the only road in the area where potholes are all over the place.

At the time of publishing, the local municipality had not commented.
