All illegal dumping must stop, say residents

Anyone caught dumping illegally is liable to pay a fine

“The dumping has become dreadful,” complains a resident who lives in Jantha Street, Acaciavale.

He and other residents are angry with the community at large for not playing their part in keeping the town clean. He explains that, every day, people take their refuse and dump it anywhere and everywhere.

“When I wake up in the morning, I find bin bags that have been torn apart.” He says this is unacceptable and people should wait for the municipal rubbish truck to come around.

“Collection days are designated to each area, so people have no excuse not to keep our town spic-and-span,” he stresses, adding that the municipality must enforce its bylaws by issuing fines to those who are caught.
