Gift of the givers provide relief to Osizweni flood victims

The Gift of the Givers foundation rushed to the aid of 20 households affected by floods, donating blankets, mattresses, food parcels and hygiene products.

The Gift of the Givers foundation arrived in Osizweni on Monday (February 20) to provide disaster relief to households affected by the recent floods in Newcastle.

The organisation donated much-needed items to residents whose homes were severely damaged by the floods at the request of the Newcastle Municipality’s disaster management.

“After receiving a call from Newcastle disaster management yesterday afternoon, we responded quickly by delivering aid to around 20 households who were directly affected by the floods over the weekend,” said, Jaaved Khan, community liaison officer.

Items donated include 70 mattresses, 70 blankets, 20 food parcels and 20 hygiene packs
