‘Perfection doesn’t exist’ by Halalisani Shoba

It is okay to show emotions, it is okay to get lost, to feel weak, to make mistakes. As human beings we are not made out of steel.

Show me one normal person who is made out of steel, then I will know that it is not okay to show emotions. As long as we still have blood flowing through our veins then there’s nothing wrong with showing emotions. No human being is made out of steel. We all go through ‘moments’, in fact we all have our demons, regardless of your own explanations of the term ‘demons’.

No one is perfect, and as long as we still inhale oxygen, it will remain just like that. if you think you are perfect, then you too good for this planet, Earth. Personally I will always embrace the scars on my knees, because they are the true reflection of my journey and the person I am. I have fallen many times but still I stand. It is okay to get lost, to fail, to make mistakes but the best part is to always navigate the correct path back to the top.

I don’t owe anyone perfection; you don’t owe anyone perfection until perfection becomes a reality. It becomes worrisome to see people frustrating themselves with things they cannot change. You will never change the fact that perfection doesn’t exist, pity as some are driven by pride to think that nothing can break them down. When our weakest moments come for a visit, we need to understand that such is part of life because we are not made out of steel but some flesh that will one day go to waste under dust. The worst we can do is to embrace our weakest moments, NO! we need to fight, at least we owe ourselves that much.

It is okay to show emotions, it is okay to get lost, to feel weak, to make mistakes. As human beings we are not made out of steel. If you do breakdown, allow others to carry you through and don’t forget to carry them through when their weakest moments come for a visit because that is guaranteed.
