NSPS bids Mr Spies a special farewell

In his 25 years at NSPS the school has gone from strength to strength. Read more here:

Newcastle Senior Primary School (NSPS) recently bid farewell to their beloved principal, Mr Andrè Spies, as he begins a new chapter in his life.

“Mr. Andrè Spies has been the principal of Newcastle Senior Primary School since 1998.

Prior to that, he worked at Newcastle High School (Head of Department), Panorama (Deputy Principal), and Amajuba (Deputy Principal) when the two schools combined.

He was always interested in sports, such as athletics and rugby, and he served as a Natal Rugby Referee for many years. He was also an avid runner, having completed several Comrades Marathons.

NSPS has grown from strength to strength in his 25 years there. He has helped to make it a force to be reckoned with in all fields, including academia, sports, and culture.

He always put the learners’ interests first, and all decisions were made with that in mind. Mr Spies was a strict disciplinarian who was always fair. He was a doer who made sure decisions were followed up on and carried out right away. The school grounds were always immaculate, something that both students and teachers could be proud of.

Mr Spies will be missed, but we wish him the best in his new chapter.”
