Businessman shot in Ekuvukeni

An unlicensed 9mm pistol and ammunition was recovered

Three suspects have appeared in court after a business owner was shot during an armed robbery.

Three armed men entered a shop in the Ekuvukeni area while customers were inside. 

One of the suspects shot the business owner in the leg. The customers then became aggressive and the frightened suspects fled the scene without taking anything. Customers and members of the community chased after them…

The business owner was rushed to hospital and survived the ordeal. 

Police were called and responded swiftly, resulting in two of the suspects being arrested. The third robber managed to evade capture.

The suspects have since appeared in the Ekuvukeni Magistrate’s Court.

They face charges of attempted murder, attempted armed robbery, and possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.
