Prince Zulu gunned down in Nongoma

A few weeks ago, Dumisani Khumalo, who was a close confidant of King Zwelethini, was also killed in Nongoma

Another senior Zulu royal was gunned down by unknown men near Nongoma on Thursday. Prince Mbongiseni Zulu was one of the royals who helped King Misizulu Zwelethini ascend to the throne. Details of the murder are still unclear. Officials say that he died at the scene, while his bodyguard died later in hospital.
Prince Mbongiseni was an Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP) Member of Parliament (MP) before he became a Zululand councillor. A few weeks ago, Dumisani Khumalo, who was a close confidant of King Zwelethini, was also killed in Nongoma. In October, an Induna of the Osuthu area (where most of the palaces are located) died in a hail of bullets. Three other people were killed along with the Induna.

“As the traditional prime minister to the Zulu monarch and nation, and as a relative of Prince MMM Zulu, I am deeply pained by this loss. I have not only known Prince Zulu all his life, but have served with him in Parliament, where he represented the IFP as a Member of the National Council of Provinces,” said Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi.
