Spartans FC topple Newcastle Legends

Fairleigh had Uloom on the back foot throughout the game.

Another action-packed soccer-Sunday took place at the Fernwood Sports grounds, with Uloom FC taking on the struggling Fairleigh United.

Fairleigh had Uloom on the back foot throughout the game and squandered numerous opportunities.

However, Uloom took the lead on the counterattack and went into the halftime break up a goal.

Uloom scored quickly again after the restart which prompted Fairleigh to up their game in their effort to find a goal, but luck eluded them.

In the second game, Spartans faced off against log leaders, Legends FC.

Legends appeared to be a disjointed team, with their midfield and strike force all but missing.

This allowed Spartans to boss proceedings, leaving the opposition chasing shadows.

Spartans were then awarded a questionable penalty and went into half time 1-0 up.

Legends’ performance in the second half was even worse and it was only their defence and goalkeeper that kept the score as it was.

Legends would be disappointed with their sloppy performance in a game where they could have easily conceded five goals.

In the final game of the day, the in form Zim Stars drew 0-0 with Malawi FC in a match that produced end to end action but no end product.

The fixtures for November 6 are as follows:
13:30 – Uloom vs Spartans
15:00 – Zim Stars vs Legends
16:30 – Malawi vs Fairleigh
