Doctors’ Day keeps golf club in perfect health

Veteran Cyril Mkhwanazi notched up his sixth hole-in-one during Dave's Competition last Wednesday.

Dundee Country Club was brimming with good health when a group of local doctors hosted their annual sponsored golf day over the weekend.
The day – organised by Dr Sheppard Nzenza, Dr Blessing Chiwaya and Dr Sifiso Kunene – attracted 70 players from around the district, all keen to compete for the attractive prizes on offer.
Musie Masina took first prize on a brilliant 40 points, with Dr Blessing Chiwaya second on 39 points, followed by Joe Khumalo and Robert Khumalo.
Novelty prizes were snaffled up by: B Mlangeni (nearest the pin – no. 4), Dion Sadaw (nearest the pin – no. 8), A Mbatha (nearest the pin – no. 12) and M Masina (nearest the pin – no. 16). Longest drive: ladies – Hlengiwe Hlongwane on no. 10; men – Shakeel Kalideen on no. 18. The ‘good doctors’ thanked all the sponsors for their support and the golfers who supported the day.
This coming weekend, Dundee Country Club will be packed with lady golfers from around KZN who will be competing in the Ladies’ Inter-Club Competition. This will be from Thursday, October 20, to Saturday, October 22.
The course will be closed over this time and the Courier wishes our local ladies representing Dundee all the best.
