Providing comfort for rape survivors
The comfort kits were generously sponsored by locals
Sergeant Mpanza and the team from the Estcourt Family Violence, Child Protection & Sexual Offences (FCS) Unit received comfort kits, clothing and toys for rape survivors recently.
The items were donated by the Democratic Alliance Women’s Network (DAWN).

“To be raped is a horrific experience and these packs are meant to help the SAPS minimise the trauma by ensuring that victims are able to clean themselves and change their clothes after they have been medically examined. We appeal to the Estcourt community to please WhatsApp 071 369 6224 to donate the following items: towels, soaps, sanitary towels, toothbrushes and toothpaste, clothes, water bottles and / or little juices, sweets, bags or small boxes for packaging and toys for minors,” said Geshy Reddy from DAWN.
