Walking to Memel in the heat

Athletes laced up their shoes after a two-year hiatus to compete in the 51-kilometer race.

As the sun soared high, the runners and walkers braved the heat of the annual Memel Walk that was held recently.

16 water tables were strategically set up along the route to ensure that everyone was well hydrated.

After a two-year break, athletes laced up their shoes to take part in the 51-kilometre fun race.

Mapiye Mapiye was the first man home and the overall winner, with Jo Classen being the first woman to cross the finish line. Congratulations to you both!
